Hiring a bouncy castle to make money for charity is a proven strategy that works exceptionally well. Charity events occur nationwide all year round but in the summer time, hiring a bouncy castle for an outdoor event is a popular choice.
Inflatable equipment at a charity event is certain to add lots of footfall to any charity fundraiser, adding great entertainment for anyone attending your charity event. Our inflatables come in lots of different sizes, so event organisers can choose between lots of inflatables to suit small events to huge galas.
We often get asked for free bouncy castle hire or a discounted cost for the charity. However I can tell you that if marketed correctly, you should easily exceed hire costs and make a good profit for your chosen charity.
Charging to go on the bouncy castle for a limited time can easily rack up a good return on your hire costs. Let's do some quick figures to give you an idea of the profit you could make.
This would of course be dependant on the equipment you would like. I will use a mid sized castle for this example which is perfect for most events.
- Hire cost for 15 X 15 adult bouncy castle = £99
- Price for 10 mins bouncing per person = £1.50
- Castle holds 8 persons at 1.0 m height
- 8 X £1.50 = £12 every 10 mins
- Over a 6 hour period = £432
- £333 profit after expenses
As you can see over a 6 hour period minus the £99 hire costs that's a whopping £333 towards your charity. Of course this depends on your footfall but as I said, if marketed properly you can easily achieve this figure.
Cream castles have no control over how well you market your event and is the reason we don't supply our equipment free of charge. Charity events often have volunteers to lend a helping hand, whereas we have staff to pay and lots of running costs on top of this.
Here's a few tips to help you market your event :
- Create a Facebook page and share with family, friends and Facebook groups. Also share on Twitter and as many social platforms as you can.
- Make a poster and advertise in local business windows.
- Create flyers and hand out at schools and local businesses.
- Get an advert in your local newspaper.
- If the event occurs every year create a blog and write about it. Then share around on social media and blog forums.
These are just a few of the potential marketing possibilities. You can get as creative as you want with marketing and generally the more creative the better.
Cream castles may potentially get involved with a large charity event that is already proven that footfall will be high. This reduces the risk that we may not cover our costs. Unfortunately as a small business this has a big impact on our personal finances.
There's always the choice of hiring the equipment and hiring an attendant from Cream castles to run your event. We offer event management packages for large events. These packages include our equipment, full public liability cover, trained staff and risk assessing and method statements.
